I realise that I haven’t blogged for a month. This is not really for a lack of things happening. I just haven’t felt real inspired to be blogging. And I do what I feel. That’s what life’s about right?
But what I seem to have done a lot of in the last month is take poor quality photos on my phone. Some people manage to do good photography in their iPhones. I don’t.
So let me recap some of the last month via my photo stream.
Early in the month I was off to a bucks weekend. We did a scavenger hunt, ate Thai, went to Nowra and watched some kick boxing.
I also saw a flower. Not very manly, but I’m not a real man.
I’ve done heaps of school visits for work. Sometimes to up north, sometimes down south, sometimes to the country, sometimes to the North Shore, sometimes to the Northern Beaches. It’s been plenty fun. I reckon in the last month I’ve spoken to about 5000 kids. I also got to see the sea on one of my visits. That was nice.
This month I did almost all my Christmas shopping online. I’m not sure what I’m going to do on Christmas Eve now, I’ll get bored with no reason to go to the shops.
I ate Sushi Ya in Artarmon with Jemma. This tunnel is near Sushi Ya. I was taking the photo surreptitiously. I’m a street photographer, you see.
One night at youth group we saw this sunset. This distracted some of the kids. Beauty distracts.
I started an Intsagram account. It’s called Emotirubbish. I take pictures of rubbish, with emotions. It’s probably going to be my greatest contribution to humanity.
Scotty and I went for a bushwalk to pray and listen to God concerning the church plant. We tried to walk to the cascades near my house. We got lost and couldn’t find them. I went back and found them the next week. As I took this selfie a man came past on his bike. Freakin’ wilderness.
I continued walking into the bush for about an hour. It was quite wonderful. I should walk in the bush more often.
Last night I went to see the filming of a new TV show at the ABC with Sam, Howie, James and Papa Sabbo. It was pretty funny. I’m not sure it’ll be very good television but we had fun. As you can see in the second photo, a man drank out of a bottle.
So there are some photos from my month. It’s obviously not my whole month. It might not even be all the highlights. But you can see some glimpses into what was happening while I was silent.
There has been a whole lot more going on recently, more profound than a post of photos can contain. I might blog about it. I might not. It’s hard to find the right words. But what I do know, what I especially know at the end of this most intense of months; my God is good. He is always good.
I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord. – Romans 8:38-39
